Import Export Code (IEC)
Mandatory for import/export businesses:
- IEC registration from DGFT
- Linked with PAN and required for customs clearance
1. RCMC Registration
Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC):
- Issued by Export Promotion Councils (like APEDA, FIEO, etc.)
- Required for availing export benefits under Foreign Trade Policy
2. APEDA Registration
For exporters of agricultural and processed food products:
- Registration with Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)
- Required to avail APEDA schemes and export incentives
3. CHA Code Addition under IEC
- Addition of Customs House Agent (CHA) Code to IEC profile
- Enables clearance of goods through customs on behalf of businesses
4. ICEGATE Registration
- Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE)
- Needed for filing customs documents online like Bill of Entry and Shipping Bill
5. Port Registration
- Registration with specific ports to enable import/export through that port
- Required by customs and port authorities
6. AD Code Registration
Authorized Dealer (AD) Code Registration:
- Issued by banks and registered with customs
- Required to receive foreign currency remittances and for customs clearance
7. Custom Clearance Services
- Coordination with customs for import/export documentation
- Clearance of goods, payment of duties, and logistics support
